Testimony of Overcoming Fear

Since joining Honni's chat, I've learned to trust in the Lord more and more each day. I know He will never leave me nor forsaken me. I remember there was a time when I was very fearful and I was battling spiritual warfare. Once, I was in my room studying and I was listening to worship music, it was a time I enjoyed with the Lord. All of a sudden, I seen a dark figure walk in front of my bedroom door that was slightly cracked. I knew it wasn't my siblings or parents, and it was unidentifiable.

Upon seeing this, my breathing quicken and my chest started closing out of fear, but then I remember that God does not give me a spirit of fear, so instead of submitting to my fear, I instead decided to pray. I prayed fervently and I did not stop and my eyes were shut tightly, praying and knowing that the Lord was by my side and I knew He would deliver me from that fear that gripped me so tightly in that moment.

While, I was praying, I noticed a bright light and I looked up and saw the figure diminishing piece by piece and a bright light filling the doorway. I was frozen at what I was seeing. All of a sudden, another figure appeared behind my door shortly after. It was almost the figure of a man, but the figure wore an silver-like black armor, stood tall and strong with a long, thick staff in the figure's hand. The bright light still shining in the midst, one of the most beautiful sights one could ever see.

It was then I knew that the Lord was present and He had delivered me from the enemy's grasp that he held on me through my fear. Now, looking back at that moment, I think of a verse that I know is true.

James 4:7

"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you".

I hope this testimony encourages someone to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Cor 5:7) and to trust in the Lord. He will never leave your side.hould be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
